URL redirection

Key point: When a Website use a new address for a URL.

When pages move or Websites reorganize their content, they often use URL redirection to send your browser to the new URL for the page.

While this process happens automatically in your browser, for security reasons, PageSeeder asks you if it is okay to follow the new URL and doesn’t fetch the metadata automatically.

You might see a URL redirection message in the following situations:

When creating URLs with the URL dialog.
When adding links with the Link dialog, or
When viewing a URL in PageSeeder in a URL card.

Automatically update links

If you’re an administrator, click Update URL to that location to update the URL to the forwarded address. When you update a URL to the new address, all links pointing to that URL are automatically updated.

The update options are also available if you are a contributor or higher in a group that has the edit all URLs option selected in the advanced options (group).
