Select columns dialog

Key point: Select columns to display in the search results

Use this dialog to choose which columns appear in the search results table or edit sheet formats.

Select the columns to display, then click Apply.

Field types

The dialog organizes fields by type based on the available data in your current search results. Narrowing your search might reduce the number of available fields.

Core – Fields shared by most result types, such as type, ID, and title.

Properties – Fields from properties fragment in documents. Select which properties to display.

Metadata – Properties defined as metadata on documents.

Inline labels – Values from inline labels in documents.

The number next to each field type indicates how many fields are selected in that category.

Columns order

The number next to each selected field indicates its column display order. Fields are numbered in the order they are selected, with a new column for each field appearing on the right in the search results.

To reorder columns, select fields in your preferred sequence. You can also view the number of currently selected columns at the bottom of the dialog. Click Clear all to reset your selection.

Column format

Each column has a default format. For most fields, this is their text value or values (for multi-value fields).

In the table format, the Title field is formatted as a link to the document, followed by the icon that opens the document panel.

In the edit sheet format, the ID field is a link that opens the document panel.

Dates display in a human-readable format with the day of the week and month name. When available, the time is also included, for example: "Tue 18 Aug 2026 at 11:45:25".

Enable Compact dates, at the bottom of the table format, to use the YYYY-MM-DD format instead. This compact format makes it easier to sort and compare dates, for example: "2026-08-18 11:45:25".

The icon indicates field with values that are editable in an edit sheet.
