How to create an edit note

Key point: Create edit notes during editing or after in the edit history.

Prerequisites

User must have a role of contributor or higher.

There are two ways to create an edit note.

Method 1: during editing

You can create an edit note when you’re editing a document.

  1. Click the icon to list the fragment options.
  2. Click the icon to display the Edit note dialog.

  3. Fill in the details of the note (title, content and labels).
  4. Click Attach note to attach the note to the current fragment. The note then appears below fragment content you’re editing.

  5. When you save your edit, the note disappears and and icon displays in the right sidebar indicating the number of edits on the document. You can click the icon to open the document edit notes panel.

If you switch to review mode, the icon is shown next to the fragment to indicate that a note is attached to the latest edit. You can click the icon to open the document edit notes panel.

When using this method, the note is saved silently, without sending any notification.

Method 2: after editing

Use this method to add a note to an existing edit.

  1. Go to the fragment history panel.
  2. Find the edit, you want to attach a note to.
  3. Click the Note... button following the content to open the Add edit note dialog.

  4. Fill in the details of the note (title, content, labels).
  5. Click Post note to attach the note.
