Key point: Links, xrefs and images.

Links, xrefs  and images are all different types of references.

Options to quickly apply formatting to links, xrefs and images are available in the middle of the editing toolbar.

Links

Add a link

Remove a link

  • In the editing context menu, click Remove link icon, then delete the remaining link text if not needed.

Change a link

  • First remove the unwanted link, then add the new link.

Open a link

  • In the editing context menu, click the Open link icon.

Cross-references (xrefs)

Add an xref

  • In the editing toolbar, click the icon to open the xref dialog.
  • In the editing context menu, click the Cross-reference... option to open the xref dialog.
  • Press Control+K to open the xref dialog.
  • Type the auto-complete pattern @then the first letter/s of a document you want to xref to. Press Enter when your document title displays or when you have clicked your title if more than one option is auto-suggested. An xref to the document is created.
  • If you are in a PDF or image document, follow Add a region containing an xref.

Remove an xref

  • In the editing context menu, click Remove cross-reference icon, then delete the remaining xref text if not needed.

Change an xref

  • First remove the unwanted xref, then add the new xref.

Edit an xref

  • Click the xref, then in the editing toolbar click the xref icon to open the edit xref dialog.
  • Right-click the xref, then in the editing context menu click Cross-reference to open the edit xref dialog.

Open an xref

  • In the editing context menu, click the Open reference icon.

Images

Add an image

  • In the editing toolbar, click the icon to open the image dialog.
  • In the editing context menu, click the Image... option to open the image dialog.

Remove an image

  • In the editing context menu, click the Remove image option.

Change an image or edit display of an image

  • In the editing toolbar, click the icon to open the image dialog and edit the image display.
  • In the editing context menu, click the Image... option to open the image dialog and edit the image display.
