The Document search panel assists with navigation when a particular expression needs to be found or updated in a document or across a publication or group. It is straightforward to click through to each document in the list of search results, switch to edit mode, make the edit, save, then click the next document.
When reviewing a document – search term highlighting is not enabled in edit mode – click the
Start typing in the Search term field then click the blue
If your document is part of a publication, results matching your search from documents in the current publication are returned by default. To search outside the current publication but within the current group, clear the checkbox Search documents in this publication only.
If your document is not part of a publication, results from the current group are returned.
The list of results includes documents that contain your search term, preceded by
the icon for their media type. Click the document title of a result to open the document view. Click the
The search term is highlighted automatically in a document view page (in review mode) or in the document panel. Searches with more than one word currently find each instance of the multiple words together as well as all the words individually. If no documents contain your search term, you see a message indicating this.
Reserved words and some punctuation might affect the highlighting of results. For example, if you search for the word “group”, occurrences in the content that are followed by a full stop “group.” won’t be highlighted, but the document containing it is listed in the results.
Click the Search and replace... button to open the replace dialog where you can replace terms in documents in the current publication or in a folder.
