Edit

Key point: Change of content in a document.

PageSeeder documents are divided into fragments. Every time a change in the content of a fragment is saved, it is recorded as an edit.

An edit can also be created when you upload a document. When you overwrite a document, PageSeeder compares the contents of every fragment in the document and records as an edit any difference between the uploaded content and the original content.

For your convenience, PageSeeder automatically saves changes in your document as draft edits – one per edited fragment. When viewing a document, PageSeeder shows the latest edit for each fragment. In edit mode, the content is replaced by any draft edit you might have made since the last edit.

PageSeeder uses the for edits. This icon is also used for editing in general throughout the user interface.

For developers: In the user interface, users can only make edits if the fragment is editable. But it is also possible to record edits against readonly fragments using the API.
