Panel

Key point: Information related to main content, displayed to the side.

Panels provide additional information or navigation options related to the main content of the page, without having to leave the current page.

Basic usage

Closing a panel

You can close a panel by clicking the icon on the top-right corner of the panel.

Refreshing a panel

The content of panels is generally updated automatically. However, on occasion it might be useful to reload the content of panel manually.

Click the icon to manually reload the content. Not all panels support this functionality.

Accessing panels

The panels that are available depend on the current page – look at the help article to see which panel is available. See a complete list of panels available in PageSeeder.

Help and document panels

The help panel is always accessible by clicking the icon in the header bar.

Document panels

The document panel displays a preview of a document. Use the icon next to a document title to open the document in the preview panel.

Left and right panels

On a desktop, panels are displayed to the left or right of the main content.

Left panel

Panels to the left are generally used to change the main content of the page.

For example, the folders panel lets you browse the folder structure in your group to navigate to other documents and folders.

Right panel

Panels to the right generally display:

  • Information directly related to the main content, such as discussions, tasks, and other information related to a document.
  • Or a selection in the main content, for example, the preview of a document or the details of a task.
