Process logs (system) page

Key point: Process logs from all the groups within the system.

Process logs for the system can be seen by an administrator.

A process log is generated when an asynchronous process is performed on the PageSeeder server, and that includes:

  • Export documents.
  • Upload documents.
  • Unzip and preview in upload dialog.
  • Folder actions (move, rename, archive, delete, create workflow, version, resolve references, validate).
  • Actions on search results, using the batch action dialog (update labels, usage reports and schemas, validate, move, archive).
  • Rename or archive groups.
  • Apply sharing options.
  • Create and repair publications.
  • Process metadata on a media type.
  • Indexing (group or server).
  • Asynchronous email sending.

The Process logs (system) page shows the logs, also known as tickets, for the current date. The current date and system time is shown on the top right. The current date is the default in the calendar and the Date field. Click another date on the calendar or you can change the date in the Date field by clicking the  or icons. The meaning of the icons for the processes or individual events are as follows:

  • Green icon – the process was completed successfully.
  • Red icon – the process had some errors.
  • Orange  icon – the process had some issues that require a warning.

To see the logs for a group, click the icon in the Select a group field – the number of groups that had process events is shown. Click in the Select a ticket field then click a ticket from the drop-down list – the total number of tickets is shown for the group.

Tickets

For each ticket, the following information is displayed:

  • Title – a short description of the ticket.
  • Launched by – the username of the member who started the ticket (process and publish logs only).
  • Started – time the ticket started.
  • Ended – time the ticket ended.
  • Total time – total time to process the ticket.
  • Infos, Warnings, and Errors – the total number of each in the ticket.
  • Display levels field – click in the field to choose from drop-down menu:
    • All
    • Errors and warnings only
    • Debug only
  • Filter logs – type a search term to find in the listed events in the ticket.

A table shows a list of the individual events in the ticket. The number of pages, number of errors and warnings precedes the table. On the right, click the icon to select the Page size from the drop-down.

The Time of each event and a Message about the event is shown and these can be sorted by clicking the icon to the right of each column heading.
