Archiving is the default removal mechanism for documents, fragments, comments, tasks, xrefs, memberships and groups.

The archive folder is a default folder in every group and is created by the system when the group is created. That folder is the equivalent of the recycle bin or trash available in most file systems, except that PageSeeder doesn’t provide a way to clear it.
When folders or documents are archived, PageSeeder automatically creates subfolders in the archive folder, for the current year and month.
When unarchiving folders or documents, these automatically created subfolders cannot be unarchived as their “location is unknown”.

When you archive a document, the outgoing xrefs are removed by default and appear as unresolved, but they can usually be recreated automatically when unarchiving the document. However, incoming xrefs to the archived document are not removed. They must be removed manually and there is an option on the archive to run a references validation to find these.
To help you recognize any reference to an archived document, xrefs appear with a different icon and color. These visual clues let you edit out obsolete references.
In the document references panel, the xref looks like this:
When you archive a group or project, it is moved to the archive project, eg /archive/dev/ps
, so that it can be recovered at another stage.
Only managers of a group and administrators can archive a group or project, or recover it from the groups and invitations page or the archived projects & groups page.
When a member is removed from a group, their details are still retained and can be viewed on the manage members page by selecting Display former members.
Archived comments, tasks and discussions can be recovered from the discussions page or document discussions panel by selecting the
When you remove a fragment, it is marked as archived but is still available as an edit in the document history panel.
