Key point: Restore an an archived project.
Prerequisites
You must have a role of administrator.
- Unarchiving a project restores all its contents, including project templates.
- The parent project must exist for a subproject to be unarchived.
Projects can be restored from the following pages:
From the project dashboard
Immediately after archiving a project, you see the archived project’s dashboard.
You can also view the project dashboard at another time:
On the dashboard, you see the following warnings:
This project is currently archived.
- When unarchived the project will be called exampleprojectname.
- Click the
Unarchive project button. You see an Unarchive project? dialog. You see the name of the project you are unarchiving.
- If you want to also restore all the archived groups under the project, select Unarchive all project's groups.
- The option to re-index the groups’ contents after restoring is selected by default.
Clear the checkbox to restore all the project’s archived groups without re-indexing (many group functions are not available
without re-indexing).
- Click the:
- Yes button – to restore the project. You see a progress bar and confirmation that the
project has been renamed (the prefix archive has been removed).
If no issues with the unarchive process, the progress bar closes automatically and
then you see the project dashboard.
- Or click No – to close the dialog.
From the Groups and invitations page
Instructions for unarchiving a project from this page are the same as from the project
dashboard, however only projects you are a member of are listed. Another difference
is that because you aren’t on a page specific to the project, the warning message
has a little less detail.
From the Archived projects & groups page
From this page, administrators can:
- Click the red Unarchive button to the right of the project you want to restore. You see a Confirm unarchive dialog showing the name of the project you are unarchiving.
- If you want to also restore all the archived groups under the project, select Unarchive all project's groups .
- Click the
icon on the right to close the progress bar and remove the project name from the
list of archives.
- No button – closes the dialog.
