Global template

Key point: A custom project template that applies to all your projects.

The global template is a project template designated to be used as a template for all projects by the globalTemplate optional configuration setting.

It’s useful to define types, publish scripts and labels which can be used in all projects.

If you want to specify URL types, a global template is necessary because they cannot be defined within individual project templates.

The global template page is accessible from the system administration. If there is a global template, it summarizes the labels and types defined in that global template and provides shorthand options to update them.

Configuration

The project acting as a global template is specified in the global properties. You can view the global properties for your system on the server properties page. If no project is specified for the globalTemplate property, the default template is used.

For security reasons, only an administrator with access to the underlying file system on the operating system (usually Linux for a server) can edit the global properties. This cannot be done through the administrator interface.
