Preferences page

Key point: Use these settings to customize the PageSeeder user interface on your browser.

Your preferences are stored in your personal profile. They affect how documents, folders and comments are shown in PageSeeder.

Theme selection

Select the color theme you prefer using for the user interface.

PageSeeder can be configured to use a fixed color scheme. If this is the case in your PageSeeder installation, you won’t be able to choose your own. A message displays, “The theme is locked by your organization.”

Layout preference

Minimal view

Select Minimal view to remove from view most of the advanced options – provides a simpler experience for casual or novice users.

Normal view

Select Normal view to enable the default options available according to your role.

Developer view

Click Developer to enable this feature if you would like to utilize the developer tools in PageSeeder.

Developer tools include additional screens and help files, exposing more technical information designed to help developers.

PageSeeder uses the icon for configurations options, actions, and pages that are reserved for developers.

Document toolbar options

Toggle the available options to apply them for all documents when you are in document view. These options are also available on the document toolbar when viewing individual documents.

Folder toolbar options

Toggle available options for all folders. These options are also available on the folder toolbar at the top of the main section when viewing the documents page.

Other options

Comment visibility

Show archived comments, tasks and discussions – when enabled, lets you view comments that have been archived so you can review or unarchive them if needed.

Archived comments are not included in search results and don’t appear in your search even when this option is enabled.

Comments, tasks, and discussions might be slower to load, when this option is enabled. We recommend that you turn it off when you no longer need to see archived comments.

Comment sorting

Show most recent comments first in tasks and workflows – when enabled, displays comments in tasks and workflows with the newest at the top.

By default, this option is off and comments are displayed in chronological order (oldest first).

This setting syncs across the task panel and workflow panel – changing it in one location changes it everywhere.

Editing behavior

Double-click to start edit mode (legacy) – determines how double-clicking on document content behaves:

  • When enabled – Double-clicking activates the document edit mode.
  • When disabled – Double-clicking uses quick edit (default in version 6.2+).

Navigation preference

Prioritise publications in navigation (beta) – when enabled, the navigation bar displays options based on the publication structure, rather than file organization, when viewing documents within a publication.
