Document panel

Key point: Use this panel to preview any document when you see the icon.

When you click an icon, the document panel is visible on the right. The contents in the panel are not editable.

An icon indicating the document’s media type and the document’s title are in the blue bar at the top of the panel. If the document doesn’t have a Document title in the properties, the document’s filename is shown.

Most documents can be downloaded by clicking the Download button at the top right.

The preview changes depending on the document’s media type.

PSML document

If the media type is PSML, you can view the content of the document, but you can’t edit or download the contents. Click any xrefs in the content to open the destination document.

PDF document

You can zoom in or out by clicking the plus or minus buttons. Scroll through the pages using the scroll bar on the right.

Image document

The image is displayed so that it fits within the panel. A grey checkerboard background denotes a transparent area within the image.

PageSeeder relies on your browser to display the image. The following image formats are supported by most browsers: WebP, BMP, GIF, ICO, JPEG, PNG, SVG.

The image format, then original dimensions of the image are displayed following the image as width × height.

Audio document

If your browser supports the audio file, an audio player appears to let you play the recording and adjust the volume. Otherwise, the following message is displayed:

Your browser doesn’t support this audio format.

Video document

If your browser supports the video file, a video player appears to let you play the recording and adjust the volume. Otherwise, the following message is displayed:

Your browser doesn’t support this video format.

Text document

The contents of the document are displayed with line numbers.

HTML documents

The contents of the HTML document are displayed.

For security reasons, the HTML document might not display correctly if it includes contents such as scripts or links to external Websites that are considered a security risk.

Other types of content

You see, using DOCX as example, the message "This file 'XXXX.docx' cannot be displayed in your browser.", followed by another Download button.

URL document

You can see the contents of the URL document and can click the either of the two URL links to go to the destination document or page. In the content, you can click the document title to open the URL document.

Click the show more options to see metadata supplied by the Website. To the left, the time the metadata was last loaded from the Website is indicated.

CSV document

When previewing in the document panel, or viewing a CSV document, you can sort the columns using the  icon in the column headers.

TeX and MathML documents

When previewing in the document panel, or viewing a MathML document, click the switch to view the source code.
