PDF thumbnails panel

Key point: Shows the PDF thumbnails when viewing a PDF.

The PDF thumbnails displays the thumbnails of each page of a PDF document. This panel is only available when viewing a PDF document – click the icon in the left sidebar.

Click a thumbnail to go to the corresponding page. The page currently displayed in the document view automatically highlights the corresponding thumbnail.

The page label is displayed following each thumbnail.

The page label is a specific name given to a page in a PDF. Although it is often the same as the page number, it might be different in PDF documents that have been published using professional tools to label pages such as a book cover, title page, or blank page.

The page number, on the other hand, is always a number from 1 to the number of pages.

Small icons might appear to the right of the thumbnail to indicate:

  • When there is a discussion on a page – a comment icon .
  • When there is an active task on a page – a task icon .
  • When the page is attached to a comment – an attachment icon .
