Member publish configuration page

Key point: Manage your personal configuration files for publish scripts in your project.

This page, available to project managers, is used to override or edit configuration files that can be used in various publish scripts across the project and is convenient for testing purposes.

The personal configuration files can be:

  • Word import config and PSML split config – used when importing DOCX documents into PageSeeder, can be created in the import options in the upload document dialog.
  • Word export config and Word export template – used when exporting PSML documents to DOCX, can be created in the Export tab in the document publish panel.
  • PDF export config – used when exporting PSML documents to PDF, can be created in the Export tab in the document publish panel.

The files are created in a member folder, which can be viewed on the template files page. Each file can be edited using the right-hand side panel editor, with sample content pre-filled when the personal configuration file is to be created the first time.

The member configuration files are personal because they only affect your publish actions in this project, not any other member. They can be used to implement and test a specific export/import script, then when the outcome is satisfactory, their contents can be copied to the relevant file on the template configuration page – under the media types tab for import configs and the publication types tab for export configs or template.

Other users still use the current project default until a personal config is copied into a publication or the default is overridden.

If created in the right-hand side panel editor, the easiest way to copy the personal configuration content is to use Ctrl-C and then go to the template configuration page and create/edit a config under an existing publication type (or create a new publication), or to the media type DOCX if copying over an import config, then select all content and paste in the new content.

To return to using the PageSeeder defaults for the project, you must delete your customized member files. They can be deleted from either the Member publish configuration page – click delete, or from the template files page – click Delete in the drop-down at the right of the file/folder.

If a config is created or overridden directly in a row for a publication or media type on the template configuration page, a personal configuration file isn’t created in a member folder, but in the relevant publication or media type folder and affects all users of the project.

Word export template

The personal Word export Template can be downloaded from the Member publish configuration page. It can be edited, uploaded to the Member publish configuration page and tested. Then it can be made available to other members by uploading it, in the Template column, under the publication types tab on the template configuration page.
